Dynegy South Bay Power Plant Demolition Project, San Diego,
Chula Vista, CA (2010-2013)

GEPermit was retained by DYNEGY, Inc. as a third party CEQA review and permitting consultant for the demolition and remediation project of the South Bay Power Plant (SBPP) that was subject to California Coastal Commission (CCC) Coastal Development Permit (CDP). Dynegy SBPP was located adjacent to San Diego Bay in Chula Vista, California. GEPermit and subconsultants team successfully completed CCC permit process as well as managing Port of San Diego, City of San Diego, and the City of Chula Vista multi agency consultation process.

 

 GEPermit’s Principal on-call biologist has conducted biological resource studies and reporting to support applications for permits for the final demolition of the SBPP to the CCC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), and California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG). Upon securing above ground demolition permit in August 2012, power plant was successfully demolished on Feb. 2nd, 2013.
