Medical Marijuana Cultivation Facility,
Perris, CA (2019)

On January 30, 2018, the City of Perris adopted Ordinance No. 1358 pertaining to the regulation of Marijuana facilities. The facilities under this ordinance include medical and non-medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities that are owned and operated by bona fide non-profit organizations. GEPermit was hired as a 3rd party for review and permitting for the construction of a medical marijuana cultivation facility in accordance with Perris Municipal Code title 5. GEPermit performed a Phase I Environmental Assessment Site visit as well as biological and cultural resources surveys. GEPermit team then drafted an Initial Study (IS) and Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the project in adherence to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regulations. The project is located on 2.61 acres of vacant land with areas of thicker vegetation coverage compared to adjacent sites in the City of Perris, CA. The project required multi-agency consultations and preparation of permit compliance documents with the US EPA, FEMA, USFWS, SHPO, and impacted THPOs. Approval from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), and the Riverside County Airport Land Use Commission were also required. GEPermit performed a streamlined permitting and environmental clearance process and project was adopted on time.
